CM Punk vs John Cena: Punk had earlier stated that he was laden to the brim with a slew of wrestling offers

Away from the ring for a multitude of years now after stepping down from the land of the WWE, CM Punk had given fire to the embers of his return. Speaking recently, Punk had talked about how he had a multitude of wrestling offers from companies at his disposal.

While the 42 year old had clarified that he wasn’t looking at returning to in-ring action at the moment, Punk had refused to stave off a likely return as well. Punk who has quit after his participation in the Royal Rumble had gone onto feature as an analyst on the FS1 show WWE Backstage in 2019 and 2020.

However, despite his comments, John Cena’s father believes their nothing substantial to Punk’s claims. Speaking to Boston Wrestling MWF’s Dan Mirade, John Cena Sr. said that Punk would have already gone onto return to the WWE if he wanted.

Cena Sr. also went onto compare Punk to Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe. Cena’s father also believed that Punk was best suited to be a backstage role in WWE if at all he did decide to realign with the organisation.

“He’s been out for so long,” John Cena Sr. said. “Would it really make a difference if he came back? With all the new talent that’s coming up, with all the new future yearly stars, regular stars coming up, how much of a difference would he make?

“I think the solution to the problem is, here’s a guy that you take, like a Daniel Bryan or a Samoa Joe, and you use them sparingly but meaningfully. I think that’s the best way to get your bang for your buck,” Cena Sr. said on CM Punk’s return.

John Cena Sr.’s comments come in the midst of his own son’s return to WWE being talked about. As per recent reports, Cena is set to make an appearance in the July 16th edition of the Smackdown, the first Smackdown event to held infront of live audience in 2021.
