The world’s number one USA continued to dominate for consecutive two days in the World Athletics Championships 2022 in the medal table. USA displayed a brilliant performance on super Sunday by adding a total of 9 medals to its tally. The first gold of the day for USA came in women’s hammer throw, as Brooke Anderson with the brilliant throw of 78.96 m.

In men’s 110-meter hurdles reigning World Champion Grant Holloway defended his title by winning gold, followed by his countryman Trey Cunningham who secured the second spot.

Talking about India, Tajinderpal Singh Toor who was to compete in the men’s shot put event retires without even a single throw at World Athletics Championships 2022. The reasons for ‘‘rʼʼ marked in his name is still unknown.
In the women’s 100m event Jamaicans dominated the event by securing 1-2-3 positions with Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce claiming her fifth 100 m world title with a record of 10.67, followed by Shericka Jackson for silver and Elaine Thompson-Herah for bronze.
