64-year-old Hima Kohli was born on born 2 September, 1959 in Punjab in a Punjabi Hindu family. Details about her parents are not known. She has a sibling named Neelu Kohli. Hima is unmarried.

Hima Kohli career and education
Hima Kohli’s academic journey includes earning an L.L.B from the Law Faculty at Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi, alongside an M.A. and B.A. in History from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi.
Justice Kohli did her schooling from St. Thomas School, New Delhi.
In 1984, she became a practicing lawyer after enrolling as an advocate at the Bar Council of Delhi, where she practiced at various courts in the city. In 1999, she took on the role of Standing Counsel for the New Delhi Municipal Council at the Delhi High Court, maintaining this position until her appointment as Additional Standing Counsel Civil for NCT Delhi in 2004.
Additionally, she served as a legal advisor to several government and private corporations. In 2006, Justice Hima Kohli was promoted to the Delhi High Court as an Additional Judge. The following year, on August 29th, 2008, she was confirmed as a permanent Judge.
Justice Hima Kohli has participated in a number of issues such as legal aid, mediation, jail overcrowding, and Delhi Judicial Academy contributions. In 2021, Hima Kohli created history by being swearn in as the Telangana High Court’s first female chief justice.
