The 26-year-old Reagan Gray was taken into custody earlier this month after evidence surfaced indicating she had been abusing the 15 year old boy since 2020 while volunteering at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock.

What Did Court Documents Reveal?

This church had been recognized by Clinton as instrumental in his journey to the White House. Court documents state that the boy’s parents discovered a series of inappropriate text messages on his phone and reported it to a senior pastor at the church.

Following the initial complaint, Gray, who was also a teacher at Little Rock Christian Academy, was temporarily removed from her volunteer role and went through counseling, claiming her relationship with the boy wasn’t “physical.”

However, in February, authorities stepped in when it was revealed that Gray was still communicating with the boy through Snapchat.

What Did the Victim Say?

According to the court filings, during interviews with federal agents, the boy claimed Gray had performed oral s*x on him, justifying that they had not engaged in intercourse to “stay pure.”

The victim claims that the abuse, which occurred nearly a dozen times, took place in Gray’s car or apartment.

During a later interview with the FBI, a church leader acknowledged that Gray had confessed to having a s*xual relationship with the victim during a counseling session the previous year.

It’s unclear whether the church leader or the victim’s parents reported the alleged abuse to authorities. Earlier this month, the church leader resigned due to the way he handled the allegations.

In 1993, before his first presidential term, Bill Clinton publicly expressed his gratitude to the Southern Baptist church, stating that it played a critical role in his journey to the White House.

At a service just days before his inauguration, he told the congregation, “ Were it not for this church, I believe it would be virtually impossible that I would be going to Washington next week as president.”

According to the media reports, Clinton added that he felt much more prepared for the role thanks to the church’s influence.
