Ayesha Yousef Hazarika, Baroness Hazarika, MBE, born on December 15, 1975, in Bellshill, Scotland, is a prominent figure in Scottish broadcasting, journalism, and political commentary.
Raised in Coatbridge, Hazarika pursued her education at Glasgow’s Laurel Bank before studying law at the University of Hull.
Initially aspiring to become a solicitor, her career path shifted towards journalism after she embarked on a comedy course, ultimately leading her to perform stand-up comedy alongside her job as a press officer at the Department of Trade and Industry.
Despite her initial success in comedy, Hazarika transitioned to focus on her burgeoning career in political advising post-2007.
