Who is Sarpreet Singh?

Born in Auckland, New Zealand, on February 20, 1999, Sarpreet Singh is of Indian descent, as his parents lived in Jalandhar, India, before migrating to New Zealand.

Reportedly, the professional player grew up in a traditional, and close-knit household, and began playing soccer at the tender age of 7.

As per various reports, Singh’s family ran a grocery store. He began playing professionally at the age of 16, with A League club Wellington Phoenix.

After witnessing Singh’s epic performance at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2019, the European scouts signed a multi-year deal with Bayern Munich, and created a history as he became the first player of Indian descent to play in Bundesliga.

With Wellington Phoenix, Singh made 40 appearances and broke through as a teenage prodigy. In 2019, he switched to Bayern Munich, with whom he stayed till 2023, and created history while becoming the substitute for Philippe Coutinho against Werder Bremen to debut in Bundesliga.

The professional player re-joined Wellington Phoenix on loan from TSC to anchor their UTE A-league finals push.
