Ongoing 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games kicked-off on August 9 and will culminate on August 18, 2022, in Konya, Turkey. Athletes from the countries that make up the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are competing in this multisport international competition. Since its debut in 2005 at Mecca, Saudi Arabia, it has occurred every four years, with the exception of the 2010 Games.

2021 Islamic Solidarity Games Schedule, Date, Time, Venue, And Organizer Details
The fifth iteration of the Islamic Solidarity Games, also known as 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games is being hosted by the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation in Konya, Turkey. The tournament kicked-off on August 9 and will run till 18th August 2022. For the first time in tournament history, Turkish Olympic Committee will be in charge of organizing the competition.
The event was originally slated to take place from 20 to 29 August 2021, but the ISSF decided to postpone it because the original dates clashed with the 2020 Summer Olympics. The COVID-19 pandemic scenario in the participating nations was cited by the ISSF as the reason for postponing the event to August 2022.
2021 Islamic Solidarity Games List of Events & Scheduled Venue
The final schedule, which included 22 disciplines from 19 sports, including 4 parasports, was released in March 2022. Tournament administrators made the decision to drop six sports: water polo, diving, field hockey, tennis, wushu, and zurkhaneh. At the expense of these events, administrators decided to include kickboxing, fencing, boccia, and archery to the tournament schedule.

As per latest news, hosts Turkey are leading the medal tally of 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games with a total of 177 medals including 63 gold medals. Meanwhile, Iran sit second in the table with 82 medals including 29 gold medals.
