After 2 years of long wait, there is finally an update of the popular sports anime series Haikyuu. As season 4 ended in 2022, all the Haikyuu fans were waiting for the news of season 5. Yesterday, the official Japanese page for the Haikyu anime series stated that a final film was in production. A new trailer for the final movie of the anime series is also out. Haikyu fans can check out the trailer here.
Haikyu Anime Will Not Have Season 5
The makers have anime shows have confirmed that there won’t be any season 5 in this series. Instead of that, fans will get to see a two-part movie which will the final production in this anime series.
Haikyu has already produced four seasons of TV anime. A two-part cinematic film would be preferable to a fifth TV season, which would mark the end of the series.
There was multiple doubt over whether this next episode would truly represent season 5 of the main anime series prior to this revelation. As was already said, this began when season 4 was divided into two courses. Many fans and news organizations believed it to be the fifth season.
“The production of ‘HAIKYU! FINAL’ anime sequel theatre version two-part production is determined!” according to the trailer video. Although the announcement of the anime’s comeback has fans all around the globe joyful, few people would have been too shocked to see Haikyu finally make it to the big screen. The major reason for this is that the anime had not yet fully adapted the novel.
Haikyu Movie Release Date
Although the news of a two-part Haikyu movie is exciting, the exact release date for the upcoming films was sadly left out of the most recent announcement. Yet, we can make some assumptions based on the previous seasons’ creation timetable.
Season 4 had a 14-month production cycle and debuted in January 2020. Fans might see the movie debut in Japanese cinemas as early as September 2023. As the movie will premiere in 2 parts, we can see the 2nd part by November 2023.
