While the competition will have veteran cricket stars as the main highlight, it will also feature various emerging talents and players as well.
Board for Veteran Cricket in India (BVCI) launches IVPL
The Board for Veteran Cricket in India (BVCI) are the organizers behind the IVPL while 100 Sports are managing it. While speaking about the competition, veteran Indian cricketer Sehwag, who is also taking part, stated:
I’m very excited to be part of the Indian Veteran Premier League (IVPL). I’ll be playing for Mumbai Champions. Let’s support Mumbai Champions.”
Suresh Raina, who is also taking part, added:
I’m super thrilled to be part of the Indian Veteran Premier League. I will be playing for Team VVIP Uttar Pradesh.””
Meanwhile, Shri Praveen Tyagi, who is the acting president of BVCI and chairman of IVPL, said:
The veteran cricketers will infuse a new energy for Veteran Cricket in India. We welcome all the veterans to the IVPL family and everyone here is excited to witness the magic.”
IVPL 2024 venue
The IVPL 2024 will take place at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida.

The IVPL will feature the following six formidable teams:
- VVIP Uttar Pradesh
- Rajasthan Legends
- Red Carpet Delhi
- Chhattisgarh Warriors
- Telangana Tigers
- Mumbai Champions
Heading into the tournament, Indian veteran Sehwag will captain the Mumbai Champions, while Chris Gayle will lead the Telangana Tigers. Suresh Raina will lead the VVIP Uttar Pradesh, while former South African batter Herchelle Gibbs will captain Red Carpet Delhi.
IVPL 2024 format
The tournament will start off with a league stage where each of the six teams will play five matches. Following the end of this stage, the top four teams will then progress to the semifinals in direct knockouts.

IVPL 2024 tickets
Tickets for the IVPL 2024 matches are available for purchase on the BookMyShow app and website.
The afternoon game will begin at 2.00 pm IST. The evening game will start at 7.00 pm IST and fans can buy tickets on the BookMyShow website.
The ticket prices start at ₹349 and the tickets for the West General Stand (Lawn) and the North East General Stand (LAWN) are priced at ₹349. The East Stand VIP LAWN – Hospitality tickets are available for ₹2499 and the E-ticket must be produced by the person at the time of entry into the stadium.
