Thousands of spectators were lining the streets of Kansas City to watch the NFL team’s victory parade on Wednesday when the shooting started. Police said the firing started because the suspects were fighting, however it’s not clear what exactly went down.

As the gunfire erupted, crowds dispersed in a horrifying scene known to investigators as a “stampede.” Nevertheless, courageous onlookers stopped the suspects as they rushed away.

According to Baker during a press conference, it seems that Mays got into a “verbal argument” with someone at the parade with whom he had no past relationship. Very soon after Mays pulled out his handgun during that altercation, “others pulled their firearms,” including Miller, according to Baker.

Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother and the host of “Taste of Tejano,” tragically passed away among the 22 people who were hurt. Prosecutors said that Lisa was murdered by a gunshot fired by Miller’s weapon, a report in The New York Times tells.

Two teenagers were charged with possessing a firearm and resisting arrest only a few days prior to the allegations. Although officials have stated that those teenagers may be upgraded to adults in the upcoming weeks, they were charged as juveniles.
