In the 2022 Denmark Open men’s doubles semifinal, second-seeded Indonesian pair of Gideon & Sukamuljo defeated fourth-seeded Malaysian duo of Chia & Wooi Yik by scores of 17-21, 21-13, and 17-21. Aldian & Ardianto of Indonesia, seeded fifth, defeated Yew Sin & Ee Yi of Malaysia, seeded eighth, in another semi-final match by scores of 21-16, 22-20. The men’s doubles final on Sunday will feature Gideon & Sukamuljo vs. Aldian & Ardianto in an all-Indonesian clash

During semi-final of Denmark Open, South Korean women’s doubles duo of Baek Ha-Na & Lee So-Hee scored a comeback win by score of 15-21, 21-18, 21-14 against third-seeded Japanese pair of Nami Matsuyama & Chiharu Shida to continue their fairy tale. In another semi-final, top-seeded pair of Chen Qingchen & Ji Yifan defeated sixth-seeded Thai duo of Jongkolphan Kititharakul & Rawinda Prajongjai in straight sets by score of 21-17, 21-15. Following these results, top-seeded Chinese duo will face Baek Ha-Na & Lee So-Hee on Sunday in summit clash.

Elsewhere in mixed doubles event semi-final matches of Denmark Open, unseeded Malaysian pair of Soon Huat & Jemie Lai crashed out after losing against third-seeded Chinese duo of Siwei & Yaqiong in straight sets by score of 16-21, 24-22. Points Award System

According to the BWF Points System, winning duo of any doubles category event will receive 11,000 BWF points, and any pair that finishes as runner-up will receive 9,350 BWF points. Currently, second-seeded Indonesian combo of Gideon & Sukamuljo are considered favorites to win men’s doubles title and clinch the top position in BWF World Rankings after top-seeded men’s doubles pair were ousted in the first round. However, second-seeded pair will have to overcome stern challenge of fellow Indonesian pair of Alfian & Ardianto in final if they want to achieve their goal.

Prize Money Pool Distribution

According to official BWF statement, total prize pool for 2022 Denmark Open will be $750,000. The winning pair of any doubles category event will get $55,500 from this pool. In contrast, runner-up combination in any category will take home total of $26,250. After their elimination in semi-final stage, fourth-seeded Malaysian duo of Chia & Wooi Yik will return home with prize money of $10,500.
