2022 Japan Open Badminton Doubles Category First Round Results, Score, Winners, And Indian Performance
In the women’s doubles, Thailand’s Rawinda Prajongjai and Jongkolphan Kititharakul, ranked No. 8 in the world, defeated Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly. The Indians lost the first game 17-21, but they held a commanding lead in the second and a decisive game appeared certain at 17-12. However, the Thai duo prevailed 21-17, 21-18 in 44 minutes after a brief incident and argument with the umpire cost the Indian youths their momentum.
Choi Sol Gyu and Kim Won Ho of Korea defeated Dhruv and Arjun in three games, 19-21, 23-21, and 21-15, respectively, despite having a match point to win in straight games. For Dhruv and Arjun, this was an instance of a squandered chance.
