In its first edition in 2023, WTT Star Contender Goa drew the participation of top players globally, such as Fan Zhendong, Tomokazu Harimoto, Wang Yidi, and Hina Hayata. Noteworthy is the representation of Indian players, with 40 contenders in the event. In 2023, Liang Jingkun and Wang Yidi, secured victory in the men’s and women’s singles categories. For the upcoming 2024 WTT Star Contender Goa, a total of 48 players will feature in the main draw for both men’s and women’s singles events. Simultaneously, 16 pairs will participate in the main draw for the men’s and women’s doubles categories, while eight pairs will vie for honors in the mixed doubles category.

The initial roster of players for the upcoming event has been unveiled, featuring a mix of global superstars and local Indian talents.
