On Saturday night in Bengaluru, Ramki Sreenivasan, a former IT entrepreneur who had become a wildlife photographer and environmentalist, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 49.
He was given a cancer diagnosis in 2017, and he overcame it. However, the illness returned around five months ago.

Ramki Sreenivasan was named CEO and co-founder of Intercept Technologies in 1998, an online advertising company that offers publishers and advertisers cutting-edge technological solutions.
He was named CEO and Co-Founder of Marketics in 2003, a marketing analytics company that serves the top-tier of Fortune-100 companies with revenue-boosting solutions.
Later, he joined 18 Herbs Organic Labs Pvt. Ltd. as an investor and counselor. Subsequently, he co-founded Conservation India, a non-profit website. Later, he joined Wildermart as an investor and advisor.
Apart from this, Ramki Sreenivasan was also a professional wildlife photographer and a well-known environmentalist. He founded the non-profit organization Conservation India as well as Wild Ventures, a digital repository for India’s natural history.
A scheme to stop the widespread hunting of amur falcons was one of his important initiatives. The effort resulted in a ban on amur falcon hunting in Nagaland. To aid underprivileged children with cancer, Ramki has established Wildlife for Cancer.
