Who is Nadine de Klerk?

Nadine de Klerk is a young South African cricketer. She has been in the news because she made her Women’s Premier League debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

She was born on 16 January 2000 in Pretoria, South Africa. Her height is 5 feet 6 inches, or 167 cm and she is currently 24 years old. She is unmarried and single. The names of her family members aren’t known.

Her career

Being a right-handed batswoman and right-arm medium-pace bowler, Nadine de Klerk is an all-rounder. On May 9, during the 2017 South Africa Quadrangular Series, she made her debut in women’s ODI cricket against India. She has previously played for the South Women’s International side in a one-day format.

On February 13, 2018, she made her debut in the Women’s T20 International Cricket (WT20I) against India. Notably, she recorded her best T20 career results in June 2022, winning 3/7 against Sri Lanka.

In February 2019, Cricket South Africa inducted Nadine de Klerk into the Powerade Women’s National Academy in recognition of her exceptional abilities. Eventually, in September 2019, she was selected for the first Women’s T20 Super League in South Africa and was named to the F van der Merwe Eleven squad.

Impressed by her consistent performances in the white-ball format, she earned a spot on the South African Test team. This led to her Test debut against England on June 27, 2022.

In 2023, Nadine de Klerk joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women’s team for the inaugural Women’s Premier League, and her impactful contributions secured her a spot in the team for the 2024 season. She demonstrated her abilities against the Delhi Capitals in the seventh WPL 2024 match, grabbing three wickets at an economy of 8.80.
