According to preliminary results issued by the electoral organization ECP, Suriya achieved a noteworthy victory, winning the PK-01 seat with an outstanding 18,914 votes. Her triumph is especially remarkable because she defeated Shakeel Ahmad of JUI-F.

In a conversation with the private media, Bibi elucidated that her foray into politics was driven by the plight of women in the remote and underdeveloped regions of Pakistan, specifically in her own constituency of Chitral. She explained her historic foray into politics by saying,

Who is Suraya Bibi?
Suraya Bibi is a renowned Pakistani politician. She has been in the news because she made history by becoming the first woman to win a district seat in KP history from Chitral.
She was born and brought up in Upper Chitral District, Pakistan. She graduated with a master’s degree in Urdu (M.A. Urdu) in 2002 and has worked in the field of education.
Bibi has been actively engaging in welfare efforts in Chitral for the past 20 years, as well as other social activities. She entered politics in 2007 and served as PTI Malakand Division Vice President.
She entered the general elections of 2024 with the support of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and ran on her own in the PK-1 Upper Chitral seat. Suriya notably received a great deal of support, earning an astounding 18,914 votes. Her closest contender, Shakeel Ahmad of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), secured 10,533 votes, marking Suraya Bibi’s victory in the election.
