The forthcoming IPL 2024 mini-auction, set for December 19 in Dubai, is drawing increasing amounts of anticipation. Even though it’s a “mini auction,” the latest retention deadline has generated a lot of attention and conversation.

This has increased the excitement about the next auction. In addition to choosing Dubai as the auction site, the BCCI is thinking about having auctioneer Mallika Sagar oversee the proceedings. Mallika was previously in charge of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction during its first season earlier this year.

Mallika Sagar is a renowned auctioneer, art collector, and consultant for modern and contemporary Indian art. She has been in the news because there are speculations that she might oversee the forthcoming IPL 2024 mini-auction.
She is based in Mumbai and is currently 46 years old but nothing is known about her family or marital status. Mallika has a plethora of expertise in art collection and consulting. She began her career in 2000 as the curator of Christie’s first-ever sale of modern Indian art in New York, blazing a unique course in the auction market. What stands out significantly is Mallika’s pioneering role as the first female auctioneer of Indian origin.
It’s interesting to note that Mallika Sagar has experience in the sports industry because she oversaw the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) auction in 2021. She participated in the WPL auction as well. She has a great deal of expertise in holding auctions for Mumbai’s Pundoles Art Gallery.
