During the Lok Sabha’s deliberations on the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023, he made remarks that sparked controversy about states that speak Hindi. During his speech, 46-year-old Senthilkumar remarked,
People of this country should think that the power of this BJP is only winning elections, and mainly in the heartland Hindi states, what we generally call the Gau Mutra states. (The BJP) cannot come to South India. You see all the results of what happens in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra, Telangana, and Karnataka. We are very strong thereโฆ You can never dream of setting foot there.
However, on Tuesday night, Senthilkumar apologized on social media, writing,
Commenting on the results of the five recent state Assembly elections, I have used a word in an inappropriate way. Not using that term with any intent. I apologise for sending the wrong meaning across.

Who is Senthilkumar?
Senthilkumar is an Indian politician, belonging to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party. He has been in the news because he stirred up controversy by calling Hindi-speaking states a Gau Mutra state.
He was born on 22 June 1977 in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu. His father’s name is V. Selvaraj, while his mother’s name is not known.
After completing his elementary education, Senthilkumar attended Annamalai University, Chidambaram, where he completed his MBBS in January 2002. Later on, he went on to attend Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Sri Ramachandra University, where he did his MD (RD).
He is married, and his wife’s name is Shobhana. However, not is known about if the couple have kids or not.
Senthilkumar is currently 46 years old.
His career
Before becoming a politician, Senthilkumar worked as a radiologist for some time. He started his career in politics with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party. In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, he ran from the Dharmapuri seat and defeated Anbumani Ramadoss of Pattali Makkal Katchi by a margin of 70,753 votes.
