According to one of his videos, Tom admitted to punching through a bamboo fence while exploring, leading to a mischief charge from Thai authorities.

He pleaded guilty to the charge, and on May 2, 2024, he was given a 2-month suspended sentence, which means he won’t go to prison unless he commits another offense during the suspension period.

What Did Tom Birchy Say?

“Pretty wild. I went to Thai court, and since I had already pleaded guilty, the process was quick. I just wanted to save time and energy, as there was video evidence of me punching through this bamboo fence,” Tom explained in his video.

He added, “I received a small fine and a suspended two-month prison sentence. I admit it was a dumb thing to do—punching through a bamboo fence is a crime pretty much anywhere.”

Despite this setback, Tom maintains that he still enjoys Thailand and plans to continue living there and running his business.

Social Media User’s Reaction

His video sharing the news went viral, quickly gathering hundreds of comments. Many praised him for his accountability, with one user saying, “Good job taking responsibility. That’s rare these days. Keep moving forward.”

Another user remarked, “Apologizing and dealing with it like an adult. Respectable.”

Meaning Behind Suspended Sentence

However, the suspended sentence means Tom must avoid any legal trouble for the next two months. If he commits another offense, he will have to serve a two-month prison term and face additional penalties for the new crime.

Tom is not the only TikToker who has gone viral after legal issues. Others, like Bryce Hall, its QCP, and Alex Danyel, have also faced legal troubles that attracted public attention.
