Despite the fact that Al-Khelaifi has denied all allegations, Tayeb Benabderrahmane and his accusations have become a trending topic of discussion, with many people trying to find out more about him. So, hereโs what we know about him:
Who is Tayeb Benabderrahmane?
Tayeb Benabderrahmane is a French-Algerian lobbyist. He has been in the news because he accused PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of executing abductions and other crimes.
He was reportedly born in Algeria. However, he later opted for French citizenship.
He is currently working as a lobbyist. He is 42 years old.
What did he claim?
Tayeb Benabderrahmane alleged that Nasser Al-Khelaifi held paperwork pertaining to the decisions to grant Qatar the right to host the 2022 World Cup and to award beIN Media, Al-Khelaifiโs company, the right to broadcast the 2026 and 2030 World Cups.
According to Tayeb Benabderrahmaneโs accusation, Al-Khelaifi served as the “sponsor” who executed orders to abduct, imprison, and torture the individual. The lobbyist asserts that only after signing a confidentiality agreement was he given permission to depart Qatar in November 2020.
The accusations are the most recent twist in a protracted court case. Earlier, Tayeb Benabderrahmane was charged with theft, influence peddling, invasion of privacy, and breach of professional secrecy in September 2022, together with two former police officers from France’s General Directorate of Internal Security.
Benabderrahmane complained to French officials last summer, claiming that he had been detained for six months due to the fact that he had what he called “sensitive” paperwork. The lobbyist, according to France Inter, was in possession of Al-Khelaifi’s smartphone as well as incriminating papers and sex films.
Al-Khelaifi was cleared in a lawsuit involving the distribution of World Cup TV rights in the fall of 2022. The lobbyist, according to Al-Khelaifi’s legal team, has tied erroneous accusations of corruption to a straightforward case of blackmail involving the sex film that was obtained by him.
