According to reports, the Noida police have reportedly arrested the accused driver, later identified as Sachin Kumar Lohia.

A 12-second video of a black Mahindra Thar driving dangerously on the wrong side of the road has gone viral. The short footage shows the vehicle swerving aggressively through traffic, forcing pedestrians to jump aside and avoid getting hit. It also shows several people in the area seemingly shouting and waving their arms, trying to alert others about the speeding Thar.
The vehicle also rams into a grey Maruti WagonR, before knocking down several parked motorcycles, and narrowly missing a white Maruti Swift. The Thar eventually crashed into a white scooter, with the driver barely managing to escape. Unsurprisingly, the video triggered public outrage online. As of now, authorities have confirmed that no one sustained any serious injuries.
Noida police arrest 27-year-old suspect
Following the incident, the Noida police have arrested the driver, identified as 27-year-old man Sachin Kumar Lohia from Morna village. Following the viral incident, police officials reportedly managed to track him down on Wednesday and confiscate his Thar. According to official reports, two police teams were sent out to apprehend the escaping suspect. Sachin who lives in Delhi is studying in a private university in Noida.

After making the arrest, police have revealed that Lohia had recently purchased the second-hand Thar. He had visited the Sector 16 car market on Tuesday to install speakers, during which he got into a heated argument with some individuals. Out of anger, Lohia got into his vehicle and started driving recklessly through the market, causing chaos and damaging multiple vehicles in the process. The Deputy Commissioner of Police in Noida, Ram Badan Singh, confirmed that they have filed an FIR against Sachin. Police registered the FIR at the Phase 1 police station.
