According to the Indian Consulate in Chicago, Rupesh Chandra Chintakindi, 26, is a master’s student at the Concordia University in Wisconsin. He hasn’t been in contact with anyone since May 2. According to a statement from the Chicago Police, Rupesh Chandra Chintakindi has been missing from the 4300 block of N. Sheridan Road.

Efforts to find Chandra Chintakindi

In an effort to find or get in touch with Rupesh again, the Indian Consulate General in Chicago claimed he has been in touch with the police and the Indian community.

The student’s father, Ch. Sadanandam, who lives in the Hanamkonda district, stated that he last communicated with his son through WhatsApp on May 2.

Sadanandam wrote to Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy pleading for help in finding his son, who had gone missing.

In a letter dated May 8, Kishan Reddy, the Indian government’s Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Development of the North Eastern Region, asked the Ministry of External Affairs to ask the Consulate General of India (CGI) in Chicago for assistance in finding Rupesh, who has been missing.

Kunkuntala Premkumar highlighted that the 25-year-old is missing from five days. He tagged S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs in his post.

Other students who went missing in the United States

A 25-year-old Indian student who had gone missing in Cleveland, USA, in March was discovered dead earlier in April.

From Nacharam, Hyderabad, Mohammad Abdul Arfath travelled to the US in May of last year to attend Cleveland University to complete his master’s degree in information technology.

Indian classical dancer Amarnath Ghosh, 34, was shot and died in St. Louis, Missouri, in March.

On February 5, the body of Purdue University student Sameer Kamath, a 23-year-old Indian-American, was discovered in an Indiana nature reserve.

Vivek Taneja, a 41-year-old IT executive of Indian descent, was attacked outside a restaurant in Washington on February 2 and sustained potentially fatal injuries.

The University of Illinois student Akul Dhawan, 18, was found unconscious outside a building in January.
