Paramjit Singh Panjwar, a wanted Khalistani terrorist, was shot dead by two unidentified shooters early on Saturday morning in Lahore, Pakistan’s Punjab province.

In July 2020, Panjwar, 63, was declared a terrorist by India under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act while serving as the leader of the outlawed Khalistan Commando Force-Panjwar organization.

A senior officer of Pakistan’s Punjab Police informed PTI that Paramjit Singh Panjwar was being guarded while going through the park of SunFlower Housing Society in Nawab Town near Tokhar Niaz Baig, where he lived, when two gunmen opened fire on him and managed to escape on a motorbike.

The victims were taken to the hospital, where Panjwar was immediately pronounced dead by the medical staff. His guard is reported to be in severe condition.

Soon, the ISI, Military Intelligence (MI), and Counter-Terrorism Department of Pakistan’s intelligence services sealed off the area and began an inquiry. Who was Paramjit Singh Panjwar?

Paramjit Singh Panjwar was a Khalistani terrorist and was notorious for being the leader of the outlawed Khalistan Commando Force-Panjwar organization. He has been in the news because he was shot dead by two unidentified shooters on Saturday morning.

In 1960, he was born in the Panjwar village of Tarn Taran, Punjab, India. He worked at the Central Cooperative Bank in Sohal from 1964 to 1986. However, after being influenced by pro-Khalistani ideology, he enlisted in the Khalistan Commando Force.

Paramjit Singh Panjwar joined the KCF in 1986, and Labh Singh, the organization’s commander and a distant relative of Panjwar, had a significant impact on him. Later, when KCF split into factions, Panjwar headed one of them. He was a notorious name in the Majha region near the Pakistani border.

Later, Panjwar fled to Pakistan when the security forces’ crackdown on Khalistanis grew more severe, and he has been residing there ever since. By obtaining cash from the illegal supply of weaponry, fake Indian rupee notes, and the transnational distribution of heroin, he had managed to keep the KCF alive.

It is reported that his wife and children reside in Germany. He died on May 6, 2023, in Lahore, Pakistan. At the time of his death, he was 63 years old.
