Leandro González Pírez, a 31-year-old Argentine international defender, is currently plying his trade in the Argentine top division league with River Plate, on loan from Inter Miami until December 2023. He returned to his hometown club with an option for a permanent transfer in 2022.
González Pírez has predominantly played his club football in South America, representing some of the top Argentine clubs. He made a move to Major League Soccer in 2017 with Atlanta United before a brief stint with the Mexican club Tijuana. He later joined Inter Miami for their inaugural season in 2020.

During his two seasons with Inter Miami, the Argentine center-back made 46 appearances. He then went back to his roots in Buenos Aires to play for his boyhood club, River Plate, where he had started his career in 2011, making 35 appearances with the first team.
Although Pírez has represented Argentina’s U20 team, he is yet to earn a senior national cap. Notably, he played under the current head coach of Miami, Tata Gerardo Martino, at Atlanta United during the 2017-2018 seasons, amassing 39 appearances across all competitions.
