About Lakshya Sen
For the curious, hailing from Almora, Uttarakhand, Sen was born on August 16, 2001, to a Bengali family. His family has a rich badminton heritage. His grandfather, C.L. Sen, was involved in district council work and competed at the national level in badminton.
His father, D.K. Sen, is a coach, and his brother, Chirag Sen, has competed internationally in badminton. From a tender age of 4, Lakshya was immersed in badminton.

In 2010, his enthusiasm for the sport become evident when he asked his father to let him join a sub-junior ranking badminton tournament.
Impressed by his performance, a coach recommended Lakshya to Prakash Padukone, who recognized his talent and took him under his wing.
Alongside playing, badminton, Lakshya Sen completed his education from Beersheba Senior Secondary School in Haldwani, Uttarakhand.
Career
At 15, Lakshya Sen, become the youngest Indian to reach the national men’s singles final. He won multiple national level junior championships.
In 2016, he secured a bronze medal at Asian junior championships. A year later, he won the India international series and Eurasian Bulgarian Open.
He was a part of the Thomas cup winning team in 2022 and in the same year, he won a gold medal during the commonwealth games.
