An Byeong-hun became the U.S. Amateur champion’s youngest-ever winner in August of 2009. In December 2005, An, also referred to as Ben An, moved to the United States to attend the David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
Since Tiger Woods in 1996, An is the first reigning champion to reach the semifinals of the U.S. Amateur. Talking about his profesional career, 2011 saw the player turn professional after finishing three rounds of qualifying school and earning a spot on the Challenge Tour.
An would later go to became the first Korean winner on the Challenge Tour after taking first place in his maiden event, the Rolex Trophy, in August of 2014.
