Age 46 David Bearman is the father of upcoming British racing driver Oliver Bearman, who has experienced a meteoric rise in motorsport over the past few years. He has played a key role in the youngster’s career so far, and continues to do so. David currently works as the CEO and founder of Aventum Group.
Bearman started the company (called Direct Insurance back then) in 1996, when he was just 18 years old. The company, which started out from a rented office in East London, eventually grew to become a major player in the highly competitive insurance world.
David’s company dealt in specialty insurance, and soon became the go-to for the asbestos and recycling industries. The company then expanded into the wholesale insurance space and launched its first-ever insurance scheme in 2005. The Aventum Group has since become a major launchpad for multiple niche global (re)insurance and broking businesses across the world. The Aventum Group holds an EBITDA of $31 million and recently made it to the Insurance Business’ Global 100 list. During an interview back on May 24, 2022, David Bearman shared:
We’re a business that’s quietly going about building a successful entity. So probably the key part to the recognition is we’ve built something that’s authentic, and taken the time to do so with a great team of people. And part of that process was the rebranding and the unveiling to the world of the group back in May of last year.”
