The 16-year-old net bowler is going viral in the headlines. Class XI student from Kapurthala was having a difficult time keeping up with the 6’4″ tall Marcus Stoinis on Thursday afternoon during Australia’s net session before the first ODI against India.

After the net session, Sameer said, as per Inside Sport:
I got Stoinis leg before a couple of times today. The coaches didn’t ask me to bowl any specific line but I bowled what came naturally to me. Unko peeche ke paer se khelne ko thodi dikkat ho raahi thi aur tez daala aur upar dala. Thoda phaas rahe thee (Stoinis was having some difficulty when he went on the back foot. I bowled fast and pitched it up.”
Sameer is assisting the Australian batsmen in getting ready to face the left-arm orthodox bowling of Ravindra Jadeja, who is anticipated to bowl a lot of overs in the three-match ODI series while Ashton Agar is on paternity leave.

Who is Sameer Khan?
Australians are currently facing Sameer Khan, a net bowler as they are in India for a three-match ODI series. The left-arm spinner is just 16 years old. The youngster, who is in class XI, comes from the Punjabi city of Kapurthala, as per cricktracker.com. Sameer is only five feet, ten inches tall, and recently turned sixteen.
In seven games for the Punjab T20 League, Sameer took five wickets. Additionally, he is listed on Punjab’s U-19 probables list. He has four brothers and sisters as per what crictracker quoted him. His father sells bedsheets in Kapurthala.
Stoinis is not the only player Sameer has been appreciated by, Steve Smith was another one to admire the youngster.
