Christie Sides tactics

Unlike other coaches in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), Christie Sides is a tactician with a clear focus on the fundamentals of defense. According to Sides, defense is the key to winning championships. She once stated:

From day one, that’s what we’ve preached. That’s how you win championships, to me. The offense will come. And that takes time, chemistry with your players. But defense is just heart. And that’s something that I have a lot of.”

Aside from her coaching philosophy, Sides strongly emphasizes on developing strong relationships with her players. Under her leadership, the Indiana Fever will most likely embark even higher with a clear vision centered on defense and player relationships. And with Caitlin Clark now a part of the team, the Fevers are undoubtedly on their way to a successful season. Sides’ defensive-minded coaching philosophy will be a great fit to help develop Clark to her full potential.
