Former champions Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are both looking to secure their sixth IPL title.
Alongside the two giants are other notable contenders like the Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Lucknow Super Giants.

IPL 2024 team-wise preview of play-offs qualifications chances
Rajasthan Royals
The Rajasthan Royals are currently one of the best teams in the competition with the highest points. The team will easily qualify for the play-offs with some games to spare.
Kolkata Knight Riders
With the return of Gautam Gambhir, KKR have experienced an improved performance with and currently hold the best net run rate in the league. As such they could potentially qualify quite easily with 14 or even 12 points.
Chennai Super Kings
Following a 100% win record at home and 100% loss record away, the Chennai Super Kings are currently in good form and should be able to qualify.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH currently has the same record as CSK, with three wins and two losses from their five matches. The Pat Cummins-led side could go either way at present.
Lucknow Super Giants
LSG has a record of two playoff qualifications in two seasons and will be looking to make it three out of three. While they have a good record at home, LSG has been lacking on the road.
Gujarat Titans
The Gujarat Titans are currently suffering a blow following the loss of Hardik Pandya. The two-time finalists are currently in mid-table but could jump up with a couple of wins.
Mumbai Indians
The Mumbai Indians began their season with a rough start of three losses in a row, before eventually getting some home victories. MI are currently on a good run and still in contention to secure a playoffs spot. They need to set their sights on reaching 14 points and improve their net run rate.
Punjab Kings
While the Punjab Kings are unlikely to attain 16 points to qualify for the playoffs, they could still attain 14 points with some big wins and an improvement on their net run rate.
Delhi Capitals
The Delhi Capitals are currently in a similar situation to the Punjab Kings but have looked better in their last few outings. DC have managed to beat CSK and LSG so far but their chances of making the playoffs remain slim. They could hopefully make it if they manage to secure 14 points.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB are currently having one of their poorest campaigns so far, with multiple heavy defeats both home and away. As such, the team are unlikely to qualify for the playoffs this year.
