Kelce was a six-time first-team All-Pro and a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee candidate who leaves behind a large hole to fill in the Eagles’ offensive line.
The 36-year-old played as the starting center for the Phillies across 13 seasons, including two Super Bowl appearances and a Super Bowl championship in 2017. Cameron Jurgens is an American football center who was born on August 21, 1999, in Beatrice, Nebraska, United States. He currently plays for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League after joining the league as the Phillies’ 2022 NFL Draft second-round pick.
Cameron is currently 24 years old and almost at the prime of his career. Notably, Kelce referred to Jurgens as his “favorite player in the draft” when the Eagles picked him. He revealed how, he picked Jurgens as the ideal candidate to replace him, something the franchise had been asking him for years.

Education
Prior to becoming a professional, Cameron Jurgens attended the University of Nebraska and played college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. When he joined in 2019, he became the first freshman Cornhusker since 1972 to start 12 games as a center. During his third and final season in Lincoln, Jurgens started all 12 games. By the end of the season, he was also included in the third-team All-Big Ten.

Cameron Jurgens NFL career
Jurgens started out his NFL career in 2022, when the Philadelphia Eagles picked him in the second round as their 51st overall during the 2022 NFL Draft. He has since played 28 games across two NFL seasons, making 11 starts at right guard in 2023. Jurgens will now look to replace Kelce and foster a strong running game as the center for the Eagles.
Last season, the Eagles were ranked eighth in team rushing yards and fifth in rushing touchdowns. Another key aspect of their game that Jurgens will have to fill in for is the “Tush Push” play. The “Tush Push” is one of the NFL’s most unstoppable plays in recent years and something that Kelce helped make. As such, the 24-year-old Jurgens has an important role to play on Hurts’ quarterback sneaks.
