Who Is Abdulla Aboobacker?
Abdulla Aboobacker is a famous athlete from India. He is known for competing in the triple jump. He was recently in the news because he won the silver medal at Commonwealth Games 2022 in the triple jump event.
His full name is Abdulla Aboobacker Narangolintevida. He was born on 17 January 1996 in Valayam village of Kerala, India. His father’s name is Aboobacker and his mother’s name is Sana. He has two siblings and their names are Muhammed and Safna.
He attended the Vanimal MUP School in Kerala and the Kallady School in Palakkad, Kerala for getting his early education. Since he was young, Abdulla has been enthralled with athletics and sports. He used to compete in 100-meter running events while he was in school. Later, once he had transferred to Kallady School in Palakkad, he began training for the triple jump.
After finishing class 12th, he moved from his town of Valayam to Kerala’s capital Thrivandranathapuram to train with coach MA George, a silver medallist at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Abdulla joined the Indian Air Force in 2014. He began his triple jump training later while serving in the Indian Air Force with instructor Harikishnan.
His height is 5 ft 10 inches. He is presently 26 years old.
His Career
Abdulla Aboobacker made his triple jump debut in 2019 and won the gold in the Indian Military Services Championship in Pune, India. He took up the silver medal in the Pune Indian Open Championship in 2019.
He earned a number of medals in 2021’s triple jump competitions, including a silver at the Federation Cup in Patiala, a gold at the Inter-Services Championship in Bhubhaneshwar, and a silver at the National Open Championship in Stadium Hanamkonda in Warangal.
He won a bronze medal at the Indian Open Bronze Medal Competitions on March 1, 2022, at Thiruvanthapuram. He competed in the Indian Grand Prix at Thiruvanthapuram that same year where he won the silver medal. He earned a gold medal at the Indian Prix in Bhubhaneshwar on May 21, 2022.
He made his international debut at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in August 2022 and he won the silver medal.
