In the UAE Athletics Grand Prix 2024, nine athletes competed and advanced to multiple event finals. Santosh Kumar Tamilarasan finished third in the 400-meter hurdles final, while Twinkle Chaudhary finished sixth in the 800-meter women’s final.

Santosh Kumar had the best performance of any Indian competitor throughout the campaign as he placed third in the men’s 400-meter hurdles final in 50.32 seconds.

Santhosh Kumar Tamilarasan is an Indian athlete who was born on January 1, 1998 in Sakkudi, Tamil Nadu, India. The 26-year-old who specialises in the 400 meter hurdles stands 1.75 m tall.

Santhosh Kumar Tamilarasan made his international debut at the 2015 Youth World Championships in Cali, where he was disqualified in the 110-meter hurdles preliminary round and was unable to go to the 400-meter hurdles semifinals with a time of 54.92 seconds. 

The following year, at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz, he made it to the semifinals after placing eighth in the Indian 4 x 400 metre relay in 3:09.14 minutes.

He is one time Asian Championships Bronze medallist, two times in Top 8 at Asian Games, once in Top 8 at World U20 Championships and once in Top 8 at Asian Championships.

Santhosh Kumar Tamilarasan represents India in international competition. His most recent victory came in the mixed 4×400-meter relay at the 2022 Qosanov Memorial. He competes in the 400-meter hurdles as well as the mixed 4×400-meter relay.

At the World Championships last year, Tamilarnsan finished seventh in heat number three, clocking in at 50.46 seconds, meaning he was unable to move on to the semifinals. The top four competitors in each of the five heats proceeded to the semifinals, as did the top four fastest overall.

Tamilarnsan ended eighth in heat number three with a timing of 50.46 seconds, so he was not able to advance to the semifinals. The next four fastest runners and the top four finishers from each of the five heats.
