The two Premier League players who were arrested are yet to be named
Police raided a football stadium to arrest two Premier League players on suspicion of r*pe during the weekend. Reports indicate that the two footballers, who play for the same Premier League team, were taken into custody about a r*pe allegation.
The investigation Into the case is ongoing, however, it was reported that the two teenage athletes were released on bail following a dramatic police operation.

According to reports, one of the players was present at the scene during the police sting and was questioned on suspicion of assault and aiding and abetting a r*pe.

Sources reported to the media that the player was allowed to leave the venue after a brief interview but was later arrested that night. The 19-year-old player spent the night in police custody and was subsequently questioned by detectives under caution.
His teammate, who Is also reported to be 19, was arrested the following day on suspicion of r*pe. On Tuesday, police stated that both teenagers had been released on bail pending further inquiries.
The identities of both the players and their club continues to remain unknown.
When Did Incident Unfolded?
The alleged r*pe reportedly occurred on Friday night, with the alleged victim contacting police and filing a formal complaint a few hours later.
Earlier, during an interview with the media, a police spokesperson said, “Two men have been arrested following a report of a r*pe.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and aiding and abetting a r*pe, while another 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of r*pe. Both have been released on police bail.”
At the time of writing this article, it wasn’t clear whether the two teenage players’ were suspended by the Premier League as the outcome of the incident.
However, the club of the player released a statement reading, “As the matter is now in the hands of the police, the club will not be making further comment at this stage.”
Similar Incidents
It’s not the first time when a Premier League player has been arrested on the charges of assault or r*pe. As previously, in 2022, a Manchester United player, Mason Greenwood, faced charges of attempted r*pe, assault, and coercive behavior.
However, a year later, after key witnesses retracted their statements, the charges were dismissed against him. Following the dismissal of charges, Greenwood consistently maintained his innocence throughout the process.
Similarly, former Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy was arrested following several allegations against him. After undergoing two separate trials, Mendy was acquitted of multiple r*pe charges.
