How did the collision happen?

Eyewitnesses told Aaj Tak that the accident happened when a car carrying eight peopleโ€”two of whom were womenโ€”hit a motorcycle first. The SUV and the bike then moved to the other lane, where they were struck by a speeding truck. All nine of themโ€”including the motorcycle riderโ€”died instantly after this. After the collision, the truck driver left the scene.

Police said that while travelling at a high rate of speed on National Highway 19 between Sasaram and Varanasi, the SUV struck a bike first, then the road divider, sending it flying into the air and landing on the other side of the road where it slammed head-on with a truck. The SUV was entirely destroyed in the collision, and all eight people inside perished instantly. The cyclist perished as well.

According to Kaimur DM Sawan Kumar, there will be compensation for accidents involving motor vehicles. In this case, their payment will be made under GIC per the Supreme Court’s ruling. Within ten to fifteen days, the money would be credited to the family members’ accounts after all the bodies had been identified and their Aadhaar numbers had been verified. According to him, the insurance firm determines whether or not to provide compensation, with an approximate range of Rs 4 to 5 lakh per person.

Who was Chhotu Pandey?
