Murthal Magnets defeated Himalayan Tahrs 28–21 in the championship match at Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur to earn an all-win record and win the first JSG Women’s Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024.

On February 20, in Jaipur, the inaugural JSG Women’s Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024 got underway. In all, six teams participated in 19 games during the JSG Women’s Yuva Kabaddi Series in 2024.

Teams from Aravalli Arrows, Himalayan Tahrs, Murthal Magnets, Palani Tuskers, Panchala Pride, and Periyar Panthers fought in the first-ever JSG Women’s Yuva Kabaddi Series. The Yuva Kabaddi Series winter edition consisted of three rounds: the Summit Round, the Challenger Round, and the Survival Round.

In a round-robin format, each team played the other side once during the Survival Round, which took place from January 12–15. In this round, 66 matches were played over 14 days. The two lowest-placed teams were eliminated, and the top 10 teams proceeded to the Challenger Round. The summit round was placed from February 4–7, with the top six teams moving on. Nine games were played in the playoffs.

The Murthal Magnets, who went undefeated in the series, had an incredible victory to finish off a faultless tournament. With an outstanding nine points, including two bonus points, 15-year-old Raider Nikita emerged as the Murthal Magnets’ best scorer.

With five points each, Kavita and Dipti also contributed significantly to the team’s total. Due to her involvement in the Khelo India University games, Dipti was unable to compete in the survival round. However, her performance in the summit round was pivotal in ensuring Murthal Magnets’ triumph.

Women’s Yuva Kabaddi 2024 best performers

Nikita scored 69 points at the end of the competition, and the top scorer on the Raiders chart was Pushpa Rana, who achieved a century and 104 points overall. With 22 points, Himalayan Tahrs’ Champa Thakur was the best defender, followed closely by Palani Tuskers’ Sneha, who scored 21 points.

Women’s Yuva Kabaddi 2024 prize money

With a prize fund of Rs 12.5 lakhs overall, Murthal Magnets will take home a Rs 5 lakh award. A prize purse of Rs 2.50 lakh will be awarded to Himalayan Tahrs.
