Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Patrick Beverley isn’t impressed by Chris Paul, and he’s not afraid that he knows it
When the Suns were crushed by the Mavericks during Game 7 on Sunday night, Beverley took to social media to call out Paul amid all the praise.
On Monday, Patrick Beverley joined Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s “Get Up” and continued to smear Chris Paul by calling him a “cunt” on defense.

Patrick Beverley is known as one of the best defensive guards in the league. And during his first season with the Timberwolves, he led them to the playoffs.
Chris Paul completely disappeared at the end of the Suns’ series against the Mavericks, was part of one of the worst losses in NBA history on Sunday night, and then on Monday, Patrick Beverley destroyed him the entire tomorrow on ESPN with Pat far from impressed with Paul’s inability to up ante when most needed.
Beverley appeared on getting Up and First Take and made his feelings for Paul abundantly clear with him since trending as he spared no words in lambasting Paul.
“He can’t defend. He literally can’t score,” Beverley told Stephen A. Smith. The Timberwolves guard then compared Paul to an orange cone.
“Man, CP can’t protect anyone, man. Everyone in the NBA knows it. What do we call it? Cone. Do you know when you make cones? Like, in the summer, you have to cone. You make a move. What does the cone do?
Get Up host Mike Greenberg chimed in: “Stay still.” Beverley emphatically replied, “EXACTLY!”
During last season’s Western Conference Finals, when Paul’s Suns beat Beverley and the Clippers, Beverley shoved Paul in the back. Beverley later apologized and said that his problem with Paul dates back to high school.
“You know Chris, so people don’t understand. Chris and I, what we’ve been going through since high school,” Beverley said on Redick’s podcast earlier this year.
