After a challenging weekend at the Austrian Grand Prix for McLaren, Lando Norris battled to finish seventh with video of him showing the McLaren steering wheel the middle finger viral
During the Austrian Grand Prix, Lando Norris, a McLaren driver, was observed cursing at his steering wheel. As he battled to straighten the vehicle on the exit of the challenging turn three while pursuing a Haas, Norris stuck his middle finger up.

On lap 35 of the race on Sunday, Norris’ onboard helmet camera captured the footage. Fans were quick to speculate about what Norris might be upset about. One fan hypothesised that the manoeuvre might have been a response to not being able to use the DRS down the back straight.
It’s aiming at his wheel perhaps because he didn’t receive DRS, a YouTube user commented. Others, on the other hand, thought Norris was just irate at his open driving manner after losing control on the corner exit.
Early throttle, should wait more until the straight line, another user commented. He destroyed the bottom of his car. Another person said, “I don’t blame him. I detest Spielberg T3 as well. Around the time the clip was taken, Norris was also given a five-second fine for exceeding track limits.
Although Norris’ team radio is not audible in the video, it’s plausible that the gesture was a response to being informed that he would receive a penalty. After the race, Norris retaliated against the FIA, calling their enforcement of track rules during the race “dumb.”
“You can’t see the white lines, so guessing is required, and I’m obviously not good enough at guessing,” he remarked. I
“I ran into the curb at the exit after locking up, losing maybe three or four tenths. Therefore, it is not as if you are not making up for the final corner when you just choose to flee and gain the upper hand.”
