Unaware of Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas who was standing behind him, Lando Norris blamed him for causing the carnage at the Hungarian Grand Prix in the first lap

With inclement weather making its presence known at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Sunday’s race was always going to make for an intriguing affair. And it ended up offering its biggest takeaway right from lap one as a gargantuan carnage ended up rendering a string of racers redundant on the day.

Valtteri Bottas ended up ruining the race right in the first lap itself as he lost control of his car. He ended up ploughing into Lando Norris who subsequently crashed into Red Bull’s Max Verstappen to see a red-flag period be enforced to get the house in order.

Bottas went onto interrupt Norris in the midst of his interview with the two exchanging words before Norris looked sheepishly into the camera.

“On lap one, I don’t know why that has to happen and why risk doing those kinds of stupid things but nothing I could do. I was second,” Norris said after his race was ended prematurely. He had gotten off to an electric start as he powered past both Verstappen and Hamilton in the opening exchanges.
