After hitting Buccaneers outside linebacker Shaq Barrett’s hand late in the fourth quarter and leaving the field, Prescott jogged to the locker room to have his right hand inspected. Jones claimed that Prescott’s throwing hand sustained a fracture near the thumb.
Cooper Rush to replace Dak Prescott
Cooper Rush, the Cowboys’ backup quarterback, will probably start against the Cincinnati Bengals the following week. Prescott, who is now 2-5 in career season openers, completed 14 of 29 passes for 134 yards while the Cowboys were held without a score in a season opener for the first time since 2001. Prescott was also intercepted once and sacked twice.
