The video has since sparked widespread outrage across social media, with users condemning Singh’s conduct. In response to the assault, Sikh soldiers from Colonel Chaudhary’s regiment took swift retaliatory action, escalating tensions further. Notably, Colonel Chaudhary had taken charge of the fencing initiative following a recent infiltration attempt in Pahalgam.

When the ADEO, Triyam Singh, declined to approve the necessary board proceedings, the colonel visited his office to address the issue directly. Instead of resolving the matter, Singh assaulted the senior officer, provoking an immediate and fierce reaction from the troops present. Army veteran Sushil Singh Sheoran exposed the incident on X, calling out the Defense Estate Office’s corruption and history of obstructing defense projects for bribes.

His post went viral, drawing sharp responses across social media, especially from the military community. Lieutenant General KJS Dhillon described the colonel’s treatment as unacceptable, stating that for soldiers, their CO is second only to God. He made it clear that harming a CO always carries consequences, as loyalty flows both ways between a commander and his men.

Lieutenant General Devendra Pratap Pandey echoed this view, noting that any aggression against a CO, especially in the presence of his soldiers, is a reckless act that invites swift retribution. Pramod Kumar Singh added that the ADEO was lucky the troops had shown restraint and suggested the response was “very light.” Journalist Man Aman Singh Chhina referenced a previous assault on Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son by Punjab Police in March.

He remarked that those involved in that case were fortunate to have escaped a similar backlash, implying that the reaction of Colonel Chaudhary’s men was fully justified. This incident has reignited conversations around bureaucratic overreach, corruption in defense-related institutions, and the unshakable bond between soldiers and their commanding officers.

All corrupt must be dealt like that.
