At the end of the 2020 to 2021 season, Thomas Frank became only the second Brentford head coach or manager to achieve promotion to the top flight of English football. Over the following four seasons, Frank guided Brentford into becoming a mainstay in the Premier League, with his pragmatic tactics and player management on a limited transfer budget receiving widespread praise. In June 2025, Frank departed from Brentford after seven years at the club to join Tottenham Hotspur. Frank is married to Nanna and they have three children.

Nanna Thiel Frank, wife of Tottenham manager Thomas Frank, has been a constant source of strength and support throughout his journey in football. Originally from Hvidovre, a suburb of Copenhagen, she moved to London with Thomas in 2016 when Thomas joined Brentford as an assistant to Dean Smith and later became the head coach. With a background in social work, Nanna provided financial stability for the family during the early years of Thomas’s coaching career.

At a time when his earnings were limited to about five thousand pounds a year, despite working nearly forty hours a week, Nanna’s steady income allowed him to continue pursuing his dream in football without compromise. The couple has three children together: two daughters named Freja and Alba, and a son named Bertram. They have largely kept their family life private.

Contrary to a viral social media post which claimed that Thomas was attending a press conference with his daughter named Anne Frank, the Tottenham boss doesn’t any daughter by the name of Anne. The post is misleading, looking to link Frank’s daughter’s name to Annelies Marie Frank, a German-born Jewish girl who gained worldwide fame posthumously for keeping a diary documenting her life in hiding during the German occupation of the Netherlands.

His two daughters are named Freja and Alba.

Thomas has shared that when he expressed hesitation about taking the Brentford role, Nanna’s initial disappointment made him reflect. Nanna saw the assistant position and the chance to move to London as the perfect opportunity, especially since it came without the immediate pressure of being the head coach. He later explained that the decision to take the job was equally influenced by his career goals and the future of his family. Nanna’s unwavering emotional and practical support has remained a key pillar in his rise from the edge of leaving football to leading one of the top football clubs in England.
