Although Chinese star Li Shifeng began his semi-final tie against fourth-seed Ng Ka Long with confidence and managed to clinch the opening set, his rival raised the level of his play to win the second-set 21-8 and force a decider. Ultimately, Ka Long bagged the decisive set 21-19 after an intense contest to qualify for the championship match on Sunday. It is confirmed that Taiwanese star Lin will be the opponent of Ka Long after he stunned in-form Chinese shuttler Shi Yuqi to secure a straight-set victory by score of 21-15, 21-19.
On Sunday, the championship match will be played and according to fans, the men’s singles final will be closely contested. However, Ng Ka Long Angus has the edge with 1.77 winning odd in his favor, while the odds of Lin stand at 1.98 according to the bookmakers.
