Rivers was right in front of the Magic bench while the game was going on at the other end of the court, as the replays showed. When Bamba came off the bench, Rivers was seen on video punching Bamba. Later, Suggs grabbed Rivers and swung him to the court. McDaniels and Prince got involved in the fight.

Rivers missed a 3-point shot from in front of the Orlando bench a few minutes earlier, and Bamba and Markelle Fultz could be seen reacting to it. In the end, the Magic won 127-120. Rivers and Bamba then took their fight to social media, where they taunted and criticised each other.

Rivers later deleted his post. The fight happened one night after Memphis Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks and Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell got into a fight on the court.

Brooks hit Mitchell in the groin area after the Grizzlies guard had fallen to the floor in the third quarter on Thursday. In response, Mitchell threw the ball at Brooks and then pushed him. Rivers says that the next time Mo Bama goes to Orlando, he has to check in because he runs the streets.
