One of Indian’s best batsman skipper ever deployed in Team India, Sourav Ganguly, who commemorates his birthday on 8 July.

Dada, as he is popularly nicknamed, led India over five years and reached the 2003 World Cup final.

He is presently the Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket Board (BCCI). Over a decade, Ganguly has brought immense delight and pride, both on and off the field, to the Indian cricket enthusiasts.

1. Team India rarely took a loss in a match whenever Sourav Ganguly smashed a century in a Test match  having12 draws and four victories. 

2. Kolkata’s sensation S Ganguly is the BCCI president as the second Indian cricketer to do so. Maharaja of Vizianagaram was the first to accomplish this in 1954. In the past, Sunil Gavaskar and Shivlal Yadav have, in particular, served as interim chairman.

3. Sourav is a right-hander – writes using the right hand, bowls. But Sourav Ganguly always batted in international cricket as a left-hander, since his brother, Snehashish, was a left-hander, to use the kit of his elderly brother.
