The competition is aimed at creating awareness about noise pollution and creating a safer environment on Indian roads.
RSWS launches ‘No Honking Twenty20 Series 2023’
While speaking at the launch, Shri Ravi Gaikwad, the Chief of RTO Thane (Konkan Range), Govt. of Maharashtra stated:
The ‘No Honking Twenty20 Series’ is an incredible initiative by RSWS to raise awareness and reduce this rising concern on the road through influential cricket legends and celebrities.”
Meanwhile, Mr Sanjay Katkar from the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) stated:
As responsible citizens of this country, it’s paramount for us to be aware of the dangers of noise pollution through extreme honking.
He expressed his belief that “No Honking Twenty20 Series 2023” series will help to achieve the desired goal of limiting the number of road casualties and reducing noise pollution. He further added how people will witness cricketing world legends compete and promote the movement to educate people about noise pollution and road mishaps.
Sangeet Shirodkar, who is the co-founder & CEO of 1Stadia, stated how “The ‘No Honking Twenty20 Series’ was created to drive a social cause. He expressed his gratitude towards the Government for their extended support towards the cause. Sangeet highlighted the importance of the people and the legends of the game coming together and supporting a movement aimed at reducing casualties and noise pollution across Indian roads.
Venue
The upcoming competition marks the inaugural edition of the series and all the three matches will take place at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose ground located at Mira-Bhayandar (West), Mumbai.
