At the Koramangala Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday, Chennai Blitz stunned the Kochi Blue Spikers to win their opening match of the 2023 RuPay Prime Volleyball League. In a game that went to the decisive set, Chennai prevailed, winning 15-9, 11-15, 15-10, 8-15, & 15-9. Following their hard-fought victory, Chennai Blitz increased their tournament point total by two. Although Kochi bagged the fourth set 15-8 to force a decider, they were outplayed in the fifth-set by Chennai Blitz, who emerged victorious after clinching it 15-9.
This competition is heating up as the defending champion Kolkata Thunderbolts take on the youthful Hyderabad Black Hawks in their second game of the season on Wednesday at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium. In their inaugural game of the season, Black Hawks defeated the Ahmedabad Defenders , while the Thunderbolts are coming off of a win against Bengaluru Torpedoes.
