During their last home game of the 2023 Prime Volleyball League, Bengaluru Torpedoes thrashed Mumbai Meteors by score of 4-1 to earn their maiden victory of the season. Thanks to their 15-10, 12-15, 15-13, 15-9, &15-9 win at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium, Bengaluru have climbed to the fourth position with one win in three games. Due to his stellar performance throughout the match, Tsvetelin Tsvetanov earned the Player of the Match award.
Meanwhile, the reigning champions Kolkata Thunderbolts emerged victorious against last season’s bottom-placed Kochi Blue Spikers by score of 4-1. With this victory, Kolkata has strengthened their hold on the top position and are expected to qualify for the semi-final stage comfortably. Ultimately, Kolkata won 15-9, 15-11, 15-14, 15-11, & 12-15 with Rahul bagging the Player of the Match.
Following Sunday’s matches, Bengaluru has served it’s purpose of hosting the opening week of league and now, the attention will shift to Hyderabad. In Hyderabad’s Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, home favorite Hyderabad Blackhawks will be hoping to overturn their setback by thumping bottom-placed Kochi Blue Spikers.
