Williams strongly refutes rumours that Porsche buys the F1 team

The German automaker sparked speculation about an announcement on Monday morning, but the British claim it has nothing to do with their team.

They have already communicated with Red Bull Racing about this goal, but their attempts to do so have thus far been unsuccessful.

Porsche buys Williams F1 team rumors dismissed ahead of the 2023 season

It appeared like Porsche’s message was getting through to Williams, since they were the only team without a significant tie-up with another team. The British racing team, though, insists that it is content with its current arrangement with Mercedes and that a takeover is out of the question.

Williams’ press office has assured GPblog that “The rumours that Williams Racing is up for sale are inaccurate. We are open to any discussions regarding the supply of engines with manufacturers from 2026 when the new engine regulations come in. We are happy with our relationship with Mercedes and appreciate all their efforts.” That being said, there is still the possibility of a collaboration or sponsorship arrangement.
