Haas appoints Laura Mueller as new race engineer
The Haas F1 Team has officially made history after appointing Laura Mueller as the official Race Engineer for Esteban Ocon. Mueller just recently joined the team earlier this year after switching through from Alpine. Haas F1 is currently undergoing significant structural changes since after finishing last in the 2023 season. Following the changes, the team notably finished in seventh place in 2024.
Haas F1 Team Principal, Ayao Komatsu expressed his full confidence in Mueller’s appointment stating:
She’s a pretty determined character… Personality-wise, Esteban is also highly driven. I think their personalities align well, which will drive success.”
Komatsu further added:
But I didn’t choose Laura because she’s female. Nationality, gender – none of that matters. What truly matters is the quality of work, the ability to fit into the team, and the capacity to maximize performance. I firmly believe this is the right choice.”
